Reflection on the Magic Mirror of Life

With regret we are discontinuing entries to this guestbook. For the past four years it has been a resource for sharing information and asking questions about the camera obscura. This guestbook page was provided as a forum about the camera obscura and from the first we read each entry and edited the code to remove those that were clearly not related to the camera obscura or the history of photography. Until recently this was only necessary from time to time. We found that it had become a daily task to remove several posts that include links to commercial, obscene, or other inappropriate sites. Appeals to posters to only add related comments have not been heeded. We are looking for a guestbook program that will let us preview entries and edit them before they are posted. Until we are able to reopen the guestbook please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions page which answers some of the questions often asked. Until we can reopen the guestbook the entries have been divided into two archives, one for the years 1998 and 1999 and one for 2000 and 200l.
